24 hours

In roughly 24 hours (I believe 24.5, to be exact), my adventure begins. I’m leaving. On a jet plane. 

Not really a jet, but you get the point. 

I’ve never been further than California & never been out of Florida for more than 8 days, and here I am. Studying abroad in Australia, literally on the other side of the world. 

Just to give you a little perspective, here’s what tomorrow will look like. 

May 6, 2013:

11:30am-Arrive at TPA

1:30pm-Flight from Tampa to Miami

2:30pm-Arrive at MIA, hang out for roughly 3.5 hours

6:10pm-Flight from Miami to LAX

*note that it’s 6pm LA time, AKA 9pm here in Florida*

8:50pm-Arrive in LAX 

*now it’s 11:50 pm Florida time*

11:50 pm-Flight from LAX to Sydney

*drumroll, y’all–we leave LAX at 2:50am*

15 HOURS LATER

7:40am-Arrive in Sydney

but guess what?

WE LAND ON MAY 8. 

Where did May 7 go, I wonder? It disappeared over the international date line. Yes, it’s May 8 in Australia when I land. but never fear, you’re still living in May 7. 

I’m 15 hours ahead of Florida. So when I’m going to bed at roughly 11pm, you’re waking up at 8am on the same day. 

I truly & honestly feel like Marty McFly. 

I’m anxious, nervous, tired, excited, happy, sad & everything in between. It’ll be an adventure, that’s for sure.
